ZONE INFORMATION AND MAP ACCESS SYSTEM (ZIMAS)

ZIMAS provides internet access to a wide variety of information about properties in the City of Los Angeles and many ways to search for it.  To search using an address:

• In your internet browser, go to www.zimas.lacity.org and accept the Terms & Conditions

• Enter the address number and the street name on the start page and click “Go” 

• When the address comes up, click on it to take you to the ZIMAS map and index of information for that address.

• Open the heading for “Planning and Zoning” on the left.

• Scroll down to the heading for “Historic Preservation Review.” If it is marked “yes” then the property you are searching is in an HPOZ

• Click on the "Yes" link and continue with ZIMAS.  You will open a page that gives the Historic designation (i.e.  “contributor” “contributor-altered” or “non-contributor”) as well as other information about the property.
